Power Pal Mike Bridges (him again!) found yet another link to an interview with someone who worked at Peter Pan Records--in this case, Donald Kasen of Inspired Studios, who along with his family ran the whole operation!
The interview appeared over on Heritage Auctions' blog, just last year. Mr. Kasen seems charmed that anyone remembers these records at all, so I can only imagine what he'd think of this blog (presuming of course he wouldn't get mad for me posting all their material). In this interview, I think I learned more about the inner workings of the company than I have in the preceding three decades. Go check it out, and thanks again Mike!

Right on, Mike! Woo woo!
"I'm in the process of cataloging all my stuff: 25,000 recordings and the books with the recordings, going back to the 1930s, getting them and digitizing them."
Hello! And it looks like that interview was published a little over a year ago. I wonder how that process is coming along.
Better start making some calls and sending some emails, Rob!
Wow! Thank you!
I don't know if I would contact him or not -- I know someone on YouTube posted a bunch of the Power Records stories and he contacted him and Donald made him take them down. So let's not rock the boat too much. There is quite a bit digitally available, however it is just the children's songs on Peter Pan Records. So far nothing from Power Records yet (at least on iTunes). For now I enjoy hearing them on this blog and the ONE record I have left. -- Mike
I was thinking the same thing--even though no one is doing anything with the licensed material, and I'm sure that Mr. Kasen no longer owns it--I could see someone at his level of involvement being none-too-pleased that this blog is giving is all away for free. So this interview will have to do. :)
As I said, really the only thing out there is stuff that all of us would NOT be interested in. Children's stuff (and I doubt my own kids would even be interested in this). You can check it out here to see what is available digitally. The website is pretty basic and old school looking. If the link doesn't work simply go to www.peterpanmusic.net and browse around. -- Mike

Wow, that was interesting. I see the clipped corners on a lot of vinyl ablbums. I always assumed the stores did that...not the manufacturer. Learn something new every day!
Thanks for the link!
Chris
Sorry I mentioned it :-(
Hey, no big thing Rockwell. I was browsing around YouTube for Power Records and Peter Pan stories and I just happened to notice one guy that had posted a bunch of them said he contacted the company about it. He just wanted them to know there was interest in it and he was made to remove them from YouTube. His response was something like "everyone else has these posted on YouTube but because I contacted the owner I am the only one who had to remove them". -- Mike
