Welcome!

Welcome to my approximately five-hundredth blog, PowerRecord.blogspot.com(someone else has already claimed, and done nothing with, PowerRecords.blogspot.com--hmph)!

As anyone whose read any my blogs knows, I have a passion for all the various comic-related stuff I grew up with that knows no bounds, whether it be Aquaman, b/w magazines, digest comics, treasury comics; all of it. The wonderfully fun and exciting Power Records--both the book and record ones and just the record ones--were really the last big part of my collection that I had yet do anything blog-related with. I had thought about it, but not having the audio element made the whole thing seem a tad pointless.

Luckily, my BFF(Blogging Friend Forever) Neal Snow told me he had about ten of the Power Records audio tracks converted to mp3s, so if I ever wanted to do it...

Of course, that did it. So I opened this blog, for anyone who loves these things as much as I do, and if they want they can sit back, hit the "Play" button, and read along like I used to, Sunday afternoons next to our record player, pile of comics and Slurpee by my side. I hope you have as much fun listening as I do putting these things up here.

Since scanning every page of these books is fairly time and labor intensive, I don't have any set schedule for this blog; stuff will get posted whenever I can get another one done! I don't know yet if I can get audio files for some of the other, more obscure Power Records(Holo-Man? Jaws of the Shark?) but at the very least I will post the superb jacket art they always had.

And now, enter a world where the action comes alive...as you read!

I think the reason I gravitate towards you is because you're just a bit more hardcore than me about this stuff.

And that's saying a lot, it's Saturday night and scanning pictures of people in their underwear currently....

Looking forward to this!

Fellers-

LOTS of files of such stuff over at the Power Records Yahoo Group.

Good luck with the latest obsession, Rob! I know it'll become a "go-to" spot on the subject.

(Personally, I don't know how I feel about stories told with audio...)

Once again Rob! makes the rest of us look like amateurs (well, me at least)! Somebody stop him before he takes over the world!

Seriously, you are an inspiration and I look forward to the latest member of the family!

Rob... i just stumbled upon your blog and was DELIGHTED to have read along with the Batman's Staked Cards. I have not heard or seen this in 20 years. My copy came with a bunch of pages missing (which didn't stop me from listening) so this is the very first I have experienced it fully. Wonderful Work!!! Man... Conan, the APES... my wife already told me that I have to stop listening tonight... hahahah time for headphones. thanks again!!!
