Conan The Barbarian

Track:
By Crom, will wonders never cease?

Power Pal Mike Bridges found another amazing "new" Peter Pan record--a full cast audio adaptation of 1982's Conan The Barbarian movie! Produced by PP mainstay Arthur Korb and featuring many recognizable voices (I'm pretty sure whoever is playing Conan also played Superman and Batman at least a couple of times), I had never seen this baby before Mike pointed out to me.

Audio-wise, Conan The Barbarian is a blast, despite the fact that this is, after all, an R-rated film being adapted for children. And you can't do better than the sleeve art, taken right from the movie's poster.

It's stuff like this that gives me hope there are more Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, et al. stuff out there that we just haven't seen yet. A great find, thanks again Mike!

Awesome find! Thank you!
The only thing that would have made it better was if they had used a still from the film with the cast just standing there for the cover.

Wow...you have to convert that in a cd ...or put the audio file online...I have to hear this!!!

I spent hours staring at that cover and wondering how Conan would fit a straight sword into a curved sheath.

Wow, just WOW! I had no idea this existed. Power Records continues their fine tradition of scarring children with material never meant for them. :-)

This one escaped my childhood collection but I picked it up on eBay a few years ago. It was a fun find but its a pale shadow of the four story Conan record from a few years before, which is possibly my favorite Power Records release period.

Rob,

Did this come with a book at all? Did they collect and reprint the Marvel adaption and release it together with the record?

No comic with this one. I don't think there was any connection between it and the Marvel adaptation. Too bad, considering how easy it would have been to do.

Finally found this album! Now all I need is a stereo to play it on.
